In Path of Exile 2, the Relic Altar is a key feature used to place Sekhema Coins like Test of Will Barya to enter and customize Trial of the Sekhemas runs. Unlocking and using the Relic Altar effectively involves progressing through specific questlines and collecting particular relics.

Step-by-Step Guide to Unlocking the Relic Altar

Progress Through Act 2 and Find the Altar Location
The Relic Altar is located in the Valley of the Titans map area. This altar typically appears as part of the storyline or trial quest progression in Act 2.

Collect Both Required Relics (Sun Clan Relic and Kabala Clan Relic)
To unlock the altar’s full functionality, you must find two key relics:

Sun Clan Relic: Drops as a random quest item in the Bone Pits zone from certain monsters. Look for green-colored item text to spot it.

Kabala Clan Relic: Drops in the Keth area, also as a random quest item from enemies there.

Return to the Altar in the Valley of the Titans
Once both relics are collected, return to the Relic Altar located next to the waypoint in Valley of the Titans.

Place the Relics on the Altar
Open your inventory near the altar, hold the Alt key to highlight interactable slots, and drag the Sun Clan Relic and Kabala Clan Relic into the two slots on the altar’s medallions.

Select Your Buffs and Unlock the Altar
After placing both relics, you’re prompted to choose permanent buffs (such as increased Charm Charges gained or mana recovery bonuses). These buffs are not locked, and you can revisit the altar later to change selections.

Use Test of Will Barya on the Relic Altar
With the altar unlocked, you can place Sekhema Coins like Test of Will Barya to modify your trial runs. Hold Alt and drag the Test of Will Barya coin onto the coin slot to activate its effects in the trial.

By completing the above steps, players unlock the Relic Altar’s full capabilities, enabling them to use Test of Will Barya and other Sekhema Coins to influence Trials of the Sekhemas. Mastering altar use is critical for customizing the difficulty and rewards of these important trials in PoE 2’s endgame progression.
